flowers on the golf course ...

pink hibiscus ... and one red one ...
a lone hibiscus under some other flowers ...
pink-to-white hibiscus ... fiendishly rare (not really LOL)
I always forget the name of these ... bouganvillea?

a sequential sunset ...

That time of year thou mayst in me behold
When yellow leaves, or none, or few, do hang
Upon those boughs which shake against the cold,
Bare ruined choirs, where late the sweet birds sang.
In me thou see’st the twilight of such day
As after sunset fadeth in the west;
Which by and by black night doth take away,
Death’s second self, that seals up all in rest.
In me thou see’st the glowing of such fire,
That on the ashes of his youth doth lie,
As the deathbed whereon it must expire,
Consumed with that which it was nourished by.
This thou perceiv’st, which makes thy love more strong,
To love that well which thou must leave ere long.

flowers of fire ...

this is a flame tree. when they bloom, it looks like they are on fire,
hence the name.
several years back, a invading worm of some kind
almost wiped out the trees.
for years, there were almost no real
blooming, just some flowers here and there.
they are finally making
a comeback, with every blossoming more lush and vibrant.

east agana bay ...

the tranquil waters of east agana bay ...
a little more of the same ... great fishing spot here, by the way ...

cloudy skies nearing sunset ...

I love the way the clouds look in this shot ... with the light behind.
another look at pretty much the same shot ...

mostly missed sunset ...

incredible sunset today — the sun was giant and brilliant firey orange.
it just hung there like a giant disc of fire and heat.
and i just couldn't get to a good place to catch it clean over the ocean.
by the time I could get to a place where it would be perfect, it was down.
top photo is from skinner plaza in hagåtña. bottom from road to my house.
