Asan Bay Overlook ...

Don't forget to click on the pics to see a bigger, more detailed version ...

The sign at the entrance of the park ...

Swirls of white on a field of blue ...

The clear spot in the middle is the main War in the Pacific National Park ...

You can see parts of the village of Asan ...

The brilliance of the late afternoon sun ...

the sky's no limit ...

Yet another sunset in Guam ...

I see a diver hitting the water ... well, the splash of it happening. What do you see?

Fire from the sky ...

Fire from the sky — vertical.

Fire from the sky — horizontal.

More sunsets ...

Coconut tree silhouetted.

Flare of light from the sun.

More of the coconut tree-sky thing.

And one more.

Late afternoon, nearing twilight ....

Sea and sky just a few hundred yards from my apartment.

The colors begin to change.

And get deeper and darker

Chief Quipuha park in Hagåtña

Chief Quipuha, or Kepuha, was the first Chamorro chief to convert to Catholicism. His name means "striving to capsize." He gave the land upon which the Dulce Nobre de Maria Cathedral-Basilica still sits.

vines, far and near

climbing, fauna-choking vines (but still cool looking) near my apartment building

things are looking up ...

Just thought this was a cool view of the Bank of Guam building in Hagåtña ... shot out of my truck window. LOL

trees at night ...

Papaya tree near my apartment building.

Betel tree near my apartment building.

Adelup ....

Adelup is point in central Guam. A school was built there. It was later condemned, then turned into the headquarters for the governor's office. It sat unused for a long while after a fairly recent typhoon before finally being restored.

Statue of the late Gov. Ricardo J. Bordallo at Adelup's entrance.

A view north from the top of Adelup.

Pretty much the same view, over a little bit.

One of the replica Spanish cannons at Adelup.

Somewhere beyond the ocean ...

A look at Oka Point in the distance.

Paseo ... from a distance.

More sea and sky.

Beach foliage ...

As always, click on the pic for a bigger, clearer image.

Sea, sky and tropical trees .. paradise, baby.

A very tall niyuk (coconut) tree against the afternoon sky.

Cool ground cover found at many of Guam's beaches.

Matapang Beach

As always, click on the pic for a bigger, clearer image.

This view from Matapang Beach shows Puntan Dos Amantes, or Two Lovers' Point, in the background.

Some tourists doing what I was doing — taking pics.

Better look at Two Lovers' Point, complete with picturesque coconut trees.

A look toward the point where the Hilton Guam Resort & Spa sits.

Cup & Saucer in Hagåtña

This is my favorite little (or big, for that matter) coffeeshop.

It's just down the road from my office, so it makes it convenient to stop by on the way on to work, and to stop by at after lunch, for that matter. I'm SO a regular there. In fact, I even have a USUAL (Earl Grey tea, sweetened, with milk, times two). So it's not coffee; sue me. I get enough coffee elsewhere.

This is the inside. A bevy of tasty treats await you, from cookies to the best cinammon rolls on island to pie and sans rival and sammiches (my fave: ham and brie on french roll — yum!) and tons more.

McDonald's in Hagåtña

They can't all be sunsets and beaches, OK?

I thought I'd also share some of the places of my daily life on Guam. It's part of my secret plot to make people from Guam totally homesick. They're used to the sunsets and beaches — could be anywhere, right?

But the Hagåtña McDonald's? C'mon! Memories galore! LOL

Jungle ... kind of ...

Elephant ear plants along my drive home ...
More of the same ....
The two skinny trees are papaya ...
Cliffside growth ...

afternoon pics ...

This huge-ass tree is located in Skinner Plaza.
A close-up of the tree's branches.
Late afternoon sun silhouettes.
These vines are pests, but look cool.
